Working Together to Stop the Spread of Invasives

Our Mission

Picture
The Timberland Invasives Partnership (TIP) is a Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) serving Langlade, Menominee, Oconto, and Shawano Counties, as well as the Menominee Nation and Stockbridge-Munsee tribes in Northeastern Wisconsin.

TIP is a partnership between federal, tribal, state, and local government organizations united through their commitment to manage invasive species through cooperative education, strategic control, and the restoration of habitats.

More information on CISMA's can be found here.

Background

TIP was officially established in 2014 with the signing of our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and have grown significantly since. Key developments include adoption Bylaws, a Strategic Management Plan, and two oversight committees, and the employment of multiple coordinators. TIP has engaged thousands of local residents and visitors, collaborated with partners to control invasive species across hundreds of acres, and reported thousands of populations of invasive species to regional databases. For copies of our official documents, meeting minutes, and newsletters, please visit the "Records" page on this website. See below for additional details about our partners, committees, and funding.

Our Partners

Currently, TIP has established 20 formal partnerships through signed MOUs. Partners of TIP have come together to coordinate and prioritize efforts across the four counties with the shared goal of managing invasive species in an effective, efficient, and sustainable manner. The partnership is committed to enhancing regional biodiversity by supporting the growth and preservation of native species on our lands.

Of these partners, Lumberjack RC&D Council, Inc. has also taken on the role of TIP's Fiscal Sponsor.
