OUR MISSION

Timberland Invasives Partnership (TIP) is a Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) encompassing Langlade, Menominee, Oconto and Shawano Counties as well as the Menominee Nation and Stockbridge-Munsee tribes in Northeastern Wisconsin and is devoted to the management of invasive species through cooperative education, control and native habitat restoration efforts.

Background

TIP was officially formed in 2014 with the signing of our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Since that time, we've developed in a lot of ways, we've adopted Bylaws, a Strategic Management Plan, and two oversight committees; employed multiple coordinators; reached out to thousands of area residents and visitors; helped control hundreds of acres with partners; and reported thousands of populations of invasive species to regional databases. For copies of our official documents, meeting minutes, and newsletters, please see the "Records" page on this website. As for information on our partners, committees, and funding see below.

Our Partners

Currently TIP has 20 formal partnerships established by signing our MOU. Partners of TIP have united in order to prioritize efforts among the four counties of focus in order to most effectively, efficiently, and sustainably manage invasive species, while also focusing on increasing regional native species biodiversity.

Of these partners, Lumberjack RC&D Council, Inc. has also taken on the role of TIP's Fiscal Sponsor.
